Lake Ossiach and its surroundings are the perfect choice for a sporty, active pastime: visitors can choose from many water sports, go hiking, and the Gerlitzen ski resort not far away from here, which is very popular in winter, and in the summer you can hike in the hills. Besides hiking, bikers can also choose from a variety of hiking trails. There is a bicycle path in front of the hotel which can be used to pedal around Lake Ossiach (bike rental is possible at the hotel) and there are many exciting hiking places within walking distance (eg. Monkey Mountain, Gerlitzen hiking trails). The lake offers many water activities and sports (eg. sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, organized boat trips, diving).
For those who love culture and sightseeing, the town of Villach, 10 km away, offers many opportunities. The Austrian small town near the Italian border is divided by the meandering Drava, which offers a beautiful sight for its visitors. Klagenfurt is just a 30-minute drive from here, the historic city of Carinthia, and the famous thermal spa town of Bad Kleinkirchen, as well as Lake Wörhti, where the world's tallest wooden lookout tower, Piramydenkogel, is located. If you like, our guests can travel from us to Italy and Slovenia, the beach is just 1.5 hours drive from Ossiach.
